Whilst I would never consider myself as a writer, I have . . . for years and years
. . . kept personal diaries.
Diaries that were originally meant as just fun recollections for Hubby and I to browse back through from time to time, but are in fact what formed the basis of my original posts here at Modesty Ablaze.
And the questions and flattering comments that I began receiving from those first posts, led me to publish short excerpts as Ebooks on Amazon and Gumroad.
And, to my amazement, I continue to be asked for more and more.
So much so, that I am currently compiling Part Eight of my “Modesty Ablaze Diaries” for publication in the New Year.
Following on from “Modesty Ablaze Unmasked”, this new edition charts my initial interest, and then enjoyment of, the fetish and dominatrix lifestyle which I’m sure many of us are curious about.
So this week’s theme of “Writing” at Wicked Wednesday seems the perfect place to share a short extract from “The Journey Beyond” . . .
The music in the main chamber as we entered was blaringly loud . . . too loud for easy conversation, but I knew from our previous visits to TG that most of the crowd came not to converse, not even to dance, more to just parade. Strutting their stuff, as Hubby called it. “Let’s find the bar” I shouted in his ear, “you can buy me a drink”.
The warehouse was huge, three floors of several large rooms on each, and then a number of smaller rooms and annexes all inter-connected with corridors and treacherous narrow steps . . . at least treacherous to me in my heels as we wandered and explored!
The downstairs bar had been far too crowded, and just as noisy as the main room, but we’d been told on entry of an upstairs bar and quieter space. But finding it was proving rather difficult, especially as there were so many “distractions” along the way!
As always with TG, the array of equipment and play-areas was amazing . . . and overwhelming! Stocks, and crosses, suspension frames and spanking benches at every turn. Hubby was clearly enjoying the sights and sounds as we wandered. But I was anxious for that first calming and relaxing glass of wine, just to settle my nerves and self-consciousness that I always feel in the first hour or so.
Eventually we’d managed to find our way to the top floor . . . and a much less crowded and noisy bar area. I’d been conscious of my age as we’d wandered around downstairs, worried that my best clubbing days have long-since passed, and that I was out of place amongst all the younger and more-outlandish outfits than my own. But in this bar there seemed a more balanced, or low-key, crowd and I began to relax a little more . . . especially once Hubby passed me that first glass.
It wasn’t just a bar area though . . . at one end of the room was a cubicle-type recess with a large bed covered in black sheeting and several couples engaged in a mini orgy of writhing and swooning bodies. I was beginning to feel more relaxed minute by minute. But theirs seemed to be a closed grouping, with neither the room nor the invitation for more participation . . . other than being part of the small crowd of onlookers gathered around.
Feeling enlivened and energised from my, by now, empty glass . . . and the activity on the bed in front of us . . . I pulled Hubby away, ordered him to “top me up” and told him we should continue our explorations of the floors below.
After some further, entertaining wanderings, we ended-up back in the largest room on the middle floor. A large space housing a large cage in the middle, with various benches, stools and tables around the outer walls. As we stood looking at the rope netting hanging from one side of the cage, a thin shape emerged from the shadows and bowed in front of me. “May I offer myself for a flogging Mistress” he said, pointing to my flogger I had draped over my shoulder as we’d been walking around. Hubby told me later that this young man had followed us down from the bar upstairs, though I hadn’t noticed him then.
Feeling much more at ease now, and actually more than-a-little excited and aroused by our surroundings, I nodded that he should position himself against the netting. I teased the black and red leather strands of my flogger gently across his shoulders, letting them twist and dangle down his back . . . and then brushing them in gentle swishes back and forth across the back of his legs.
Then, warming to my task, and feeling tingles rising within, I reached forward and yanked his black shorts over his cheeks, letting them fall to his ankles . . .

I’ve been very lucky over the past few years to acquire quite a collection of restraint and bondage accessories during my fun “hobby-time” sessions. But of course, it’s always nice to have more to choose from whenever I’m packing my bag(s) for a new appointment.
So it was quite a thrill recently to be asked by my favourite fetish-fashion company honour.co.uk, if I would like to review one of their new HNRX Bondage items.
I first came across Honour in the summer of 2014, at The Great British Tattoo Exhibition, where I bought my first Latex Corselette. And I have purchased numerous items of clothing from the wonderful, and easy to use, Honour website in the four years since.
And having often been seduced by their amazing range of clothing in the past,
I was certainly intrigued to “test” a set of their HNRX Rubber Wrist and Ankle Cuffs.
As always, the parcel arrived perfectly and discretely packaged, in a strong brown cardboard box, which upon opening, contained two separate, black cardboard boxes (approx, 4 inches square) for the Cuffs themselves, and two smaller rectangular boxes for two “Trigger Hook” devices (more on these later).
As you can see from my photos here, the boxes are all stylishly designed in Black and Purple with strong, white corrugated cardboard inner sleeves lining the Cuff boxes which also contain two metal locks and keys for each Cuff set.
Both Cuffs are made from heavy rubber latex which is actually very stiff . . . much, much stiffer than you would probably imagine. In fact my initial reaction on taking them out of the box is that they felt “too stiff and unwieldy” in comparison to my existing collection of (well used) leather bondage cuffs.
However, I am happy to say that my concern was only temporary as the natural curve of the rubber actually made them quite easy to attach to my willing assistant. They seem to hold their shape more than my leather cuffs and, I was told, felt “quite smooth and comfortable” once buckled-up . . . at least until he was clipped to the flogging-frame!
The manufacture of the cuffs is sturdy and impressive with the inner bands themselves being almost 3mm thick and 50mm wide. These bands are secured to a thinner (25mm wide) outer tongue-strap by four rows of chrome double studs. This outer strap has a chrome D and O ring at it’s middle, with a heavy duty chrome buckle at one end, and six slots to fit over the buckle tongue when secured.
The Wrist Cuffs are 27cm in length (to fit wrists from 12 to 22cm circumference), whilst the Ankle Cuffs are 32cm in length (to fit ankles from 20 to 29cm circumference). And, having had the pleasure of using them twice now since their arrival in my mailbox, I must say that despite my initial concern about their rigidity, I am very impressed.
Especially when used in conjunction with Honour’s ES Double Trigger Hooks. These are separate accessories to the Cuffs, but I highly recommend that you purchase . . . not just because they clip so easily into the O-rings of the HNRX Cuffs, but because they clip so easily into absolutely anything with buckles, chains, hooks or loops.
These heavy duty, double-ended Hooks are 10cm in length and are made from Die Cast Zinc, with a Chrome-like finish, with an easy-to-use trigger-release mechanism at each end. They are light to handle and just perfect for quickly attaching . . . and quickly releasing whenever you are ready. So a safe and user-friendly accessory for the user and the used . . . if you know what I mean, and I really do recommend these as must-have items for all of your every-day restraint requirements!
So . . . as I said earlier . . . I have been shopping at honour.co.uk for lots of my play-time latex and lingerie for several years, but these exciting Rubber Cuffs have certainly piqued my interest and I am sure to be tapping on that “Bondage” tab more and more in the future.
