It’s become a Tradition over the past six years, for me to return every summer, to my favourite Grecian Stairs.
And I do think maintaining one’s traditions is so important . . . don’t you?

The end of our first day at the beach . . . and there are certainly no shortage of signs pointing the way to the conveniences.
But, disappointingly, I can’t see one for the nearest beach-bar !!!
Anyway . . . whilst I go off to search for one, you can see how other people are spending their weekend by tapping on the Sinful Sunday lips below!

“I hate these self-service machines” I said to Hubby. “I’m always nervous
whenever I have to use them in the copy-shop.”
“I’m never sure which way to put the paper down at first!”
“I have pushed the button!” I said to him. “But nothing is coming out.”
“No, I don’t want to ask the man at the back of the shop!” I snapped at him.
“I would feel silly having to ask for assistance.”
“Try the auto-feeder on the top” Hubby whispered nervously.
“Before somebody else comes in to the shop and joins the queue.”
“Yes, it’s working now!” I giggled triumphantly. “Now you go and pay, I think the number of copies comes up automatically on his screen.”
Thankfully I managed to get all my copies made without any complaints or further delay . . . and I’m sure there will be lots of other interesting copies to view from pushing the Sinful Sunday button below!
And, I’m hoping that having to wait for the machine to become available, will qualify me for the “Public Photocopier” category at Jade’s wonderful and
fun Scavenger Hunt pages!

Whilst away on vacation, one has to make a choice about what to pack into the carry-bag for the walk down to the beach each day.
One I can make do without . . . one I certainly can not !!!

I’ve never been very good with photography . . . so this week’s Sinful Sunday theme of “Over Exposed” has left me at a complete loss! Especially as I had an important function . . . a Friday Fun Function actually . . . in a lovely hotel directly overlooking Waterloo station last night, which meant I just haven’t had the time to give photography much thought this weekend.
Though, of course, I did indulge in Over Exposure of a different sort!!!
Now we often hear of complaints about train delays and cancellations don’t we? But although I was quite busy and not really paying too much attention, I must say I was very impressed! It seemed that every time I glanced down, another train was arriving or departing. “Just like cock-work” I said at one point.
“Oh, I meant clock-work, I shouldn’t be speaking with my mouthful.” I quickly corrected myself.
And I could quite clearly see a sense of satisfaction . . . and appreciation . . . on the faces of some of the passengers in their seats as they reached the climax of their journey.
Even through our sound-proofed windows (just as well!!!) . . . I’m sure I heard the Station Master announcing “The 19.45 Express from Waterloo is about to . . . depart from Platform 14. Calling at . . . ”
But anyway . . . to bring things back on track . . . if we click on the lips below we are sure to find the sort of Over Exposed that Molly really had in mind for this week’s theme!

“Why don’t we travel on the buses today, instead of you having to drive?” I said to Hubby as we came upon the Central Bus Station in the island’s main town
in the first week of our summer holiday.
“Then you could have a glass of wine with me at each stop . . . instead of all those Iced Tea’s you’ve been having to drink”.
“There are people in the queue behind me getting ready for the next bus. Shall I pop back to the ticket office and enquire what time it leaves?”
“Look . . . they are all very big and have air-conditioning.” I said, finally managing to convince him.
“Well, that first bus driver did give me quite a funny look when I asked him if he offered a Hop-on Hop-off service!”
“Do you think I should go back and tell that family in the yellow shirts that the bus doesn’t stop at that corner . . . and that it will be arriving here shortly?”
Anyway, Hubby had to agree that we had a lovely day discovering lots of different little bus shelter’s at each stop . . . and, of course, some nice Taverna’s and lots of refreshing glasses of wine together along the way!

Although I’ve often waited at London Bus Stops before . . . and, of course, travel on the bus almost every day . . . this was wonderfully different and lots of fun, which I’m hoping will qualify for the “Bus Station” section

I’ve always loved Zoe’s (Sex Is My New Hobby) wonderful Mile High posts

So much so that on a recent flight, I just had to overcome my dislike of aeroplane toilets, and try a Mile High of my own! (A photo-Mile-High silly . . . it was far too cramped in there for the sort of Mile-High you are probably thinking of !!!)

Goodness it’s been unseasonably warm these past few days for this time of year.
So much so that I built-up quite a sweat on my run this morning . . . and just had to stop for a few, modest, moments to cool down.
And though most of the leaves in the park have now fallen, I found this lovely splash of red to cheer me up, before setting off again for the office.

“Are you sure this is a Lighthouse?” I asked Hubby. “I thought Lighthouses were tall and have those big mirror thingys on the top?”
“Well the guidebook say’s it’s a quite famous Lighthouse. And look, it does have a blinking light on the top!” he replied.
“Well that blinking guidebook of yours just seems to keep bringing us to places where there are always loads of other people about!
You know I don’t like crowds when I’m on my holiday!” I snapped back.
“Mind you, at least it’s a bit cooler here in the shade.” I admitted after I’d walked round to the other side.
“In fact it is quite nice feeling that sea-breeze.” I said as I started to enjoy myself.
“Yes, I know it’s a nice view! . . . But you just concentrate on looking back down the path and make sure no-one else comes round the corner.” I told him.
“Oh, fucking hell!!! . . . There’s a boat pulling up behind you! Where did they come from? Didn’t you hear it coming?” I exclaimed.
“Well you told me to keep an eye on the path!” he shouted back. “I haven’t got eyes in the back of my head and anyway I’m sure they didn’t see you”.
“Of course they saw me you idiot! They were fucking pointing!” I hissed as I stormed down the steps back towards the path.
“Please don’t use that sort of language. We’re in a public place and it’s disrespectful to their culture.” he said, trying to calm me down. “And anyway, they were just waving. That’s what you do when you’re on a boat passing the shoreline. People always just wave from a boat.”
“They weren’t fucking waving! They were pointing!!!” I shouted at him as I marched down the path. “And don’t talk to me about being disrespectful! You weren’t the one standing half-naked in their public place! That’s probably far more disrespectful!!!”
“It’s not disrespectful” he said, still trying to calm me down. “They have all those marble statues all over the place, and they’re always half naked.” he went on. “And anyway the boat has sailed past now, so just relax.”
“Well, that’s as maybe” I replied, “but there’s more people at the end of the path now, so you can just find me a nice taverna and a nice glass of wine . . . and then
I might be able to relax!!!”
Anyway, you will probably find lots more half-naked and statuesque pictures . . . and possibly even some more bad-language . . . at this week’s Sinful Sunday by smacking the lips below!

“Do we really have to walk all the way over to the other side?” I asked Hubby as we stepped onto the causeway.
“I’m quite happy just catching some sun here. And look even that gentleman behind me has stopped and is turning around.”
“Well, the guide-book says there’s a nice taverna on the other side of the harbour” Hubby replied. “And, see, there are other people walking on over there” he said as another man passed us by.
“But it feels hotter here out on the water, than back on shore where we started!”
I complained as we reached the half-way point. “Why don’t you ask this couple coming along if it’s worth the long walk?” I pleaded as I rested against the wall.
“Well, they’d better be right about it being a nice place, but can I rest here for just a few minutes longer . . ?
. . . because I can at least feel a nice little breeze here at the moment!”
“Oh alright then . . . I must admit the guide-book is right, it is a nice taverna . . . but I’ll need a few more glasses of wine before we have to start the walk back!!!”
And I imagine there will lots more cause-for-pausing at this week’s
Sinful Sunday from sipping from the lips below!
